Program Overview

Women in Power Training Program

The Women in Power Training Program (WIPT) is designed for female university graduates with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering who are eager to build a successful career in the renewable energy sector. At Daystar Power, we believe diversity drives innovation and success. Yet, across Africa, women remain greatly underrepresented in engineering roles, in Nigeria, less than 10% of engineering students are women.

What Our Graduates Say

The classroom training was one of my favorite parts of the program. The training sessions were enlightening and covered a wide range of topics from power engineering to negotiation skills. I was equipped with the skills that an average engineering graduate should have when entering the workforce. I left the program feeling confident in my abilities. - Zeinab Oluwatobi Alli
I feel very privileged to test my knowledge. At first, I felt skeptical about engineering; I thought I should go into engineering management. But my experience with the program has been fabulous and eye-opening. I love the structure and how Daystar invested so much in our training. They treat us like we're a part of the company. At Daystar, we can thrive as engineers. - Folakemi Suulola
The program's hands-on experience and impactful projects made it worth it. I found the opportunity to develop skills such as decision-making and time management invaluable. - Miracle Adogamhe
I took charge of a project when the engineer I was shadowing wasn't available. I had to convince the client that I could answer their questions, and I was able to handle everything on my own. This experience made me more outspoken. I realized that there was nothing I couldn't do. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the program. - Adaoma Onyeukwu
