Since launching WIPT in 2019, we've run the program through five cohorts, training female electrical engineering graduates to move from theory into live solar installation work. The program exists because a engineering degree, on its own, doesn't teach someone how to commission a site or manage a project under pressure. WIPT is built to close that gap.

The program runs on six pillars:

  1. Advanced solar engineering training, beyond classroom theory
  2. Hands-on project experience on live sites and installations
  3. Industry-ready skills and safety protocols used globally
  4. Direct mentorship from experienced Daystar engineers
  5. Leadership training in managing teams and projects
  6. A professional network of peers and industry experts
